The Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), has stated that the Bill on Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD) passed by the Delta State House of Assembly would address the issues faced by physically challenged persons in the state.
The Deputy Speaker of DTHA, RT Hon. Arthur Akpowowo made this known while speaking with newsmen in Asaba.
Akpowowo asserted that the bill would ensure that physically challenged persons enjoy full rights and privileges like other citizens, noting that all forms of discrimination were properly looked into.
He said the welfare of PLWDs were also addressed as their full rights would be fully protected.
The Deputy Speaker said the bill among others had mandated that public offices provided entrance for physically challenged, noting that the bill had received encomiums from citizens.
Rt Hon Akpowowo said anyone found victimising persons with disabilities would face the law.
He assured the people of Ethiope East constituency of effective representation noting that with the establishment of a constituency office in the area and regular Townhall meetings with the people to get vital feedback from them, the constituents should expect the best .
