Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on his election victory. Oborevwori, the current speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, was declared winner of the March 18 governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after collation of results. There is growing tension in Evwerni right now as thugs allegedly suspected to be working for a former Delta lawmaker and a serving Commissioner destroyed nearly all electoral materials, including some Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines. Political and youths leaders in Warri South, Delta State, have described the cancellation of the Delta South Senatorial election result from the local government area as pre-meditated political injustice against the people and have called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to revisit and review the result.
