The National Orientation Agency (NOA) have called on Nigerians, especially the Youth to embrace the national core values to build a better future for the country.
The Director General of the Agency, Dr. Garba Abari, made the submission in a One Day Nationwide Attitudinal Re-Orientation progaramme in collaboration with the International Organization For Migration (IOM), held at Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku.
Dr. Abari, who was represented by the Director of NOA, Delta State Directorate, Mr Chris Uche Anyabuine maintained that the society iss experiencing moral decay due to the myraids of moral vices such as Cultism, Corruption, Drug and Substances Abuse, Sexual and Gender based Violence , Suicide amongst others.
According to him “This has led to ills in the society and attitudinal change is required to set some Nigerians alright hence the Sensitization program”.
The Director General of NOA who says concerted effort is needed to correct the youths, noted that Youths contribute 60percent of the labour force which drives the process of governance and socio economic development which explains the reasons of being the target of attitudinal change campaign.
The Chairman of the occasion, the traditional ruler of Ubulu-uku Kingdom, HRM Obi Henry Kikachukwu noted that education was very important for anyone to strive and be counted.
HRM Kikachukwu advised youths to shun cybercrime and other related vices
Other partners such as International Organization for Migration,NAFDEC amongst others pointed out the dangers of social vices and and how to curb them.
The programme was interactive with the undergraduates.
