Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, is expected to attend the appeal fund lunching ceremony of the Armed Forces Emblem, as part of the activities lined up for the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration.
Director General, Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, in a statement on Monday, said the emblem launch shall hold on Tuesday 10th December, 2024 at the Unity Hall, Government House Asaba, begining from 10am.
He quoted the Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Political and Security Services, Mr Chuks Aguonye, as saying that the Emblem Appeal Fund Launch provides a platform for Stakeholders both in the public and private sectors to make donations in support of the welfare of veterans and dependents of the fallen heroes.
According to Dr Oghenesivbe, the Armed Forces emblem launching event is an annual event undertaken by governments in Nigeria, to honour our serving military officers and heroes who sacrificed their lives to secure our nation’s unity, adding that, it is incumbent on all citizens and residents in Delta State, to attend and donate generously at the emblem appeal launch on Tuesday 10th December 2024, at Unity Hall, Government House Asaba.
“The emblem appeal fund launching ceremony is an important event towards 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration in Delta State.
“Let’s attend and support the welfare of veterans and dependents of our fallen heroes,” the statement added.
The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, the Honourable Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emimitimi Guwor, Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Arthur Akpowowo, and Honourable Members of the State House of Assembly are expected to be in attendance.
Other top dignitaries expected to grace the Armed Forces emblem launching ceremony are; the Delta State PDP Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kingsley Emu, Head of Service, Reginald Bayoko mini, members of the State Executive Council, Heads of Armed Forces and Paramilitary services in Delta State, prominent Deltans and captains of industry, as well as people from all walks of life.
Stakeholders, senior government officials and all Invited guests are expected to be seated on or before 9.30am.
