A 22-year-old apprentice-tailor was beatẹ̀n to dēath by some tailors for allegedly being a would-be spy for robbers at Obadina area of Lagos Island early Sunday morning.
The apprentice, identified as Hakeem Mujib, it was learnt went to a 2-storey building situated at 7a Obadina street, off Obe street to rest with his friend called Kehinde around 2am while returning from an errand.
According to an eye witness, Hakeem’s boss who has an office around Massey Children Hospital area sent him to deliver some newly sewn clothes for internal linning around 1.30am and while returning at about 2am, he decided to stay with another apprentice friend in that building because he was too tired.
A source narrated, “it was while Hakeem was knocking the main gate of the penthouse on the 2-storey building being occupied by some tailors that they demanded who he was looking for at that hour.
“The tailors who didn’t know his friend accused him of trying to be a spy for armed robbers who may later invade their shop and rob them of their belongings…”
And they bèat him to deáth
