The Member, representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Ogbueshi Ngozi Lawrence Okolie, has given gratitude to God for his victory against Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) at the Appeal Court in Abuja.
Ngozi Okolie, who also expressed his profound appreciation to his constituents, disclosed this in his reaction to his victory in an appreciation he signed and made available to newsmen on Saturday, 16 September, 2023.
According to the Lawmaker’s reaction “My good people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, with profound gratitude to GOD and genuine appreciation of your continued support, I’m reaching out to you today. You may have heard, that on Thursday 14th September, 2023 the Appeal Court Abuja upheld my Appeal and upturned the decision of the tribunal in Asaba, then reinstated me as the legitimate winner of the 2023 election into the Federal House of Representatives.
“I thank you all for your total support during the testy times in the Tribunal and the Appeal Court. Indeed, to GOD be the glory. I also thank very specially my lawyers who did everything within their abilities to ensure that the mandate given to me by the people of Aniocha/Oshimili was not stolen from the back door.
“Now that the distractions are finally over, I can concentrate on what you have sent me to do in the National Assembly. And, for this, I assure you that we shall be adequately represented, and our voice heard. Elections and all that followed are now over. It is time to put our party affiliations and sentiments aside and work for the general good of our constituency. On this note, I wish to particularly extend a hand of fellowship to my brother and friend, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, the immediate past member and three-time representative of our constituency. Although he had taken the contest to its judicial limits, I believe that his legislative experience will be pertinent as we collectively seek the progress of our people.
“May I reiterate that I represent EVERYBODY, including all who voted for me, those who did not vote for me, and all my opponents in the contest. My priority remains the welfare of our people, and by working together with a shared vision, we can achieve great things for the good people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.”
