Civicist Rex Anighoro, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Civic Engagement and Civil Society has been elected the Vice President of the United States Government Premier Exchange Program Alumni Association, the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP).
Civicist Rex Anighoro who is a year 2010 Alumnus of the Program which was founded in 1940 was elected unopposed and was sworn in with other EXCO members at the American Corner in Ikeja, Lagos.
At the election Mr. Dayo Oketola, the Editor of Punch Newspapers emerged as the President, succeeding Dr. Adetoun Tade an accomplished Media personality who served for two terms.
Addressing pressmen shortly after his inauguration, Civicist Rex Anighoro thanked the International Visitor Leadership Program Alumni Association (IVLPAA) for finding him worthy amongst eminently qualified members to be part of the leadership, he pledged not to let them down but to alongside the President and other esteemed EXCO members lift the standard, make the difference and show a more excellent way.
He noted that his election was a vote for diversity, more inclusion, impactful and formidable Association where no one will be left behind.
He congratulated the elected President and EXCO and thanked President emeritus, Leader Adetoun Tade and her EXCO for exceptional leadership and service to the Association and the People of Southern Nigeria.
