The Provost of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba, Dr. (Mrs) Josephine .E. Anene-Okeakwa, has identified discipline, vision, patience, team work and other vital variables as responsible for her success as the administrative head of the institution.
Dr. Anene-Okeakwa stated this in the college, Asaba, while briefing the press to mark the third anniversary of her assumption of office as the Provost of the college.
She said that as a product of the education system, she was well positioned to grapple with the challenges confronting the institution, adding that a combination of various leadership principles, including team work, perseverance, tact and diplomatic astuteness were the driving force behind the success of the college so far.
The Provost stated that she operated an open door policy where every facet of advice was considered, but would not entertain frivolous issues that could draw back the hand of the clock of development of the college.
Dr. Anene-Okeakwa, who was inaugurated as the sixth substantive Provost of the college on May 2, 2019, said that all forms of indiscipline, either among the staff, management or students, had been tamed, adding that there had never been any report of cultism, drug abuse and some other unwholesome social vices, prevallence in some other institutions of learning, in her institution.
She said that challenges and constraints, such as paucity of funds and low enrollment of students, notwithstanding, the college had recorded commendable feats in staff training, infrastructural advancement and academic excellence, adding that products of the college were doing quite well in their different callings.
She called on parents to take proper upbringing of their children serious, saying that moral rectitude be inculcated in children, as a good home is the foundation of a better larger society.
