A book, Modern Guide For Image Makers: The Effective Ways To Write Press Releases, Rejoinders and Organise Press Conferences, written by a former Editor (Daily) of The Pointer Newspaper, Asaba, Mrs. Henrietta Oyakhilome and Mr. Awele Ogbogu, a member of The Editorial Board of The Pointer Newspaper, is due to be launched today Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at the NUJ Press Centre, Asaba by 11am.
The book also has sections on Guaranteed Success in Features Writing and Public Speaking, particularly for media aides, spokespersons, brand managers, media reps, community relations managers, public relations practitioners, information and communications officers and managers in political, corporate and governmental spheres of life. In a press statement giving details of the launch, the Committee for The Public Presentation of the book, disclosed that Delta State Governor, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa will be the Special Guest of Honour, while Hon. Ned Nwoko, Delta North Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be the Chief Launcher.
The writer of the books Foreword, Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, has also agreed to be the Chairman of the occasion, just as other highly rated dignitaries include Delta State Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Fidelis Tilije as co-launcher, while Pastor Chris Nwaka, Resident Pastor, Living Faith Church, Ibusa Road, Asaba, is the Father of The Day.
The event, which is the first to be hosted at the recently commissioned NUJ Press Centre, Maryam Babangida Way, Asaba, will be anchored by popular and delectable compere, Onome Iyaruwe of DBS, Asaba. The Book Reviewer, Stella Egbra, PH.D, Head, Department of Mass Communication, Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, said of the publication: it is a book that needs to be widely distributed. The book is multi-disciplinary in nature with respect to its subject matter, so I recommend it to academics, journalists, media researchers, public relations professionals, all those managing brands, public and private figures, leaders, producers of products and services, journalism schools, students and lecturers of mass communication and media studies at our various higher educational institutions and the general public. The book serves as a guide for living for the public and everyone involved in media operations.
