The Delta State Contributory Health Commission (DSCHC) have inaugurated a ‘Covid-19 Crisis Support Response Team’ to curtail the spread of the pandemic coronavirus in the State.
The Response Team comprised of Doctors, Nurses, Laboratory technician and Call Centre Operators to attend to Deltans and other Enrollees of the State Contributory Health Scheme, for medical assistance during the Covid 19 Lockdown in the State.
Advising enrollees of the State Contributory Health Scheme not to panic or rush to any hospital without being referred and to avoid overcrowding in case of suspected symptoms, Dr. Ben Nkechika, the Director General of DSCHC revealed that the Commission made access to Healthcare Facilities during the Lockdown easy by being in full operation and providing logistics for Health workers and enrollees.
Dr. Nkechika also disclosed that through its ICT Platform, the Commission was able to provide seamless referral processes and service communication with accredited healthcare facilities for enrollees.
As a commitment, the DSCHC rendered immerse assistance to The popular Secretariat’s Clinic was established by the State Ministry of Health for civil servants working in the Olorogun Felix Ibru Secretariat, that has been temporarily moved to Jesus Saves Road to serve as an emergency and referral point to enrollees of the Commission.
In his remarks, the Medical Director of the Clinic, Dr. Uche Okwe who commended the Commission on behalf of other staff, for the assistance rendered throughout the Covid-19 Lockdown in the State, said the Delta State Contributory Health Commission contributed greatly to the success recorded in curtailing community spread of the coronavirus during the lockdown.
“Apart from the provision of Referral and Authorization codes without hitches for patients to go to referred hospitals, DSCHC also came to our aid by providing vehicles for transportation for workers during the lockdown”. Dr Okwe stated.
